Insulation Services Photo Album: Complete Attic Upgrade and Energy Usage Reduction in Baldwin, PA 15227
Sarah wanted to make her home more comfortable year-round. Like many homeowners, she was dealing with rising energy costs, uncomfortable upstairs temperatures, cold floors during the winter, and concerns about ice dams forming along the roof.
After evaluating the home, we found that the attic was allowing valuable conditioned air to escape through multiple leakage points. When warm air leaks into the attic, it not only makes the home harder to heat and cool, but it can also contribute to ice dam formation during the winter.
Our team focused on rebuilding the attic into a high-performance system. We sealed attic air leaks, top plates, and soffit transition areas while also addressing chimney-related leakage. We upgraded the insulation throughout the attic, improved attic accessibility, and insulated the attic access opening to eliminate one of the home's most common hidden energy loss areas.
As part of the project, we also improved insulation in targeted floor areas to help reduce cold floors during the winter months.
By combining air sealing with proper insulation, we helped create a continuous thermal barrier that keeps conditioned air inside where it belongs.
Now the home stays more comfortable throughout the year, the upstairs maintains more consistent temperatures, the floors feel warmer during the winter, and the conditions that contribute to ice dams have been significantly reduced.
