Chad contacted us because his home was experiencing several comfort issues. Cold floors, drafty rooms, and temperature swings upstairs were making it difficult to keep the home comfortable. When we evaluated the home, we found that air leakage and insulation gaps in the attic were allowing conditioned air to escape. When warm air leaks out of the living space, it can cause cold floors, uneven temperatures, and higher energy bills.
Our team focused on strengthening the attic system. We sealed attic air leaks, sealed top plates and penetrations, improved attic access openings, encapsulated ductwork to reduce energy loss, and upgraded insulation levels. We also installed insulation dams to ensure the insulation performs properly and stays in place.
By tightening the attic’s thermal boundary and improving insulation performance, we helped reduce uncontrolled air movement throughout the home. Now the home experiences more stable temperatures, reduced drafts, and improved comfort throughout the living space -- including better temperature control in the basement.
