We were very satisfied  with our experience with Home Environment Solutions and the installation of the insulation in our home.  It is well worth the cost.  We have already noticed that our air conditioner is running less often, and for shorter periods of time as well.  It is not comfortable to actually sleep upstairs and work in the upstairs office. The installers, Mike & Craig were very professional.  They gave clear and detailed answers to our questions and addressed our concerns promptly and completely.  Their work was done in a careful and neat manner.  Before leaving, they cleaned all of the work areas.   We would recommend Home Environment Solutions without reservation as the preferred vendor to do your home insulation install.

I wanted to show you my comparison of our bills from the old house to the new since you insulated. The top bill which is $112.52 is our electric for last month in our current house and the bottom bill $209.07 is from the house we have not been living in and the air kept at 75 degrees! Its double the price!! I did a double take when I realized that the smaller house bill is way more than our larger house you insulated!!

We had Home Environment Solutions insulate and encapsulate our crawl space. We had condensation on our windows in our home, musty odors and our floors were freezing in the winter. When I went down there I found mold in the rafters and we had to have the exterminator spray twice a year for carpenter ants. Our sales rep Mark came out and inspected our crawl space and explained exactly what was happening in our home. They first sent Dave and Jeff out to remove the mold and the following week Mike, Craig and Zach came to insulate and encapsulate. Since completion we have a different home! The humidity is normal, no more musty odors and our floors have been warm all winter! We decided to add an extra layer in the crawl space and now since it's so dry we use it as extra storage. Home Environment Solutions did an excellent job! We love our new crawl space!

Our downstairs and upstairs are equally warm now! Especially the bedrooms at the end of the house! The bedrooms on each end of the house were drafty in the winter and stuffy in the summer but now they are comfortable and I really havent worn socks much. The downstairs is a lot warmer and the thermostat is 68 which is lower than we used to keep it and the furnace doesnt run nearly as much!

The tempurature in my house was uneven. I would freeze downstairs just to get the upstairs at a tempurature that I could tolerate. It was so hot! I used to hit a heat wall going up my steps. Now that you have redone the insulation in my home, I am comfortable no matter where I go in my house. Did I mention how much lower my bills are? I would have never thought insulation would make such a HUGE difference. Thank you again to you and your staff!

Owner Amy H was in the process of purchasing a new home. During a routine home inspection mold was discovered in the attic.

The owners were ecstatic with the results! They reported back that in August the home was the same temperature throughout and the cooling bill was half the cost of the home they just moved from that was significantly smaller.

  • Sealing and Insulating Can Lights in Bradford Woods, PA
    Before
Sealing and Insulating Can Lights in Bradford Woods, PA
    After

Recessed lighting, like any other opening in the ceiling, is a potential site for energy loss.  Not only do recessed can lights leak air, but warm light bulbs also make the situation worse turning the holes into small chimneys. The heat source accelerates the stack effect, speeding up the flow of air through the light and into your attic - air you paid to heat! That is exactly what was occurring in this Bradford Woods home.

The cans recessed into the attic are large and take up a lot of space, space that for safety reasons insulation can't be blown right up against them.

Home Environment Solutions has a solution for this problem.  We use TiteShell Can Light Covers to stop airflow and energy loss through the fixture.  It also allows insulation to be blown right up against the covers, creating a air tight seal, which stops the flow of air back into your attic.

    Crawlspace Insulated In Wheeling, WV
    After

Wheeling, WV homeowner Amy L. built her home with a crawlspace underneath it.  Crawlspaces are a common method builders use to hide electrical and HVAC work.  Crawlspace science has changed considerable over the years.  Crawlspaces are normally known as dark, damp, and smelly places under a home.  This is because outdated building codes permitted crawlspaces to be ventilated.  We know today that this isn't the ideal solution.  We close the vents and insulate the walls using SilverGlo wall insulation. Then we prevent moisture from seeping up through the ground using are CleanSpace liner to line your crawlspace.

Tina C. a Jewett, Ohio homeowner had some serious structural problems with their home resulting from a wet vented crawl space. The crawl space was damp and cold and was causing mold to form on their floor joist and main supporting beam. The main supporting beam was rotting and sagging causing the house to sink.
